Recently, the PCI Security Standards Council announced that it is launching a new training course to certify security professionals as Card Production Security Assessors (CPSAs). The computer-based CPSA program aims to streamline assessments of card-related security threats and increase the consistency of security measures across the industry.
In addition to training assessors to fully evaluate the security risks associated with cards and card transactions, the program will help security professionals understand how to implement industry best practices, such as chip embedding, card personalization, and secure packaging and shipping protocols.
As of 2019, CPSA training is open only to card production assessors. However, the training will be available to additional qualified professionals starting in 2020
